In 2007 Vectis Brass Band will celebrate 60 years of entertaining locals and holiday makers alike, teaching and promoting brass musicianship via its open door policy and enjoying numerous contest successes both on and off the Island. We are a self supporting, community based band which holds weekly rehearsals and has a full calendar of performances right across the Island. The senior band welcomes established players wishing to join our happy team who enjoy their music making. Subs £1.00 a week.
VECTIS YOUTH BRASS BAND IOW
Thursday 7.00pm - 7.50pm St Mary's RC Primary School
Since its re grouping in 2002 the youth band has gone from strength to strength and now has a full band of 40 players. Like the senior band it undertakes an annual concert programme with engagements across the IOW. The youngsters have also enjoyed contest success (Winners in: Wessex Training 2004, Wessex Youth 2005, SCABA Entertainment Youth Section 2005, 2nd place Lamy Challenge Cup Youth Band Quartet & SCABA Hove Champions 2007) The youth band welcomes any young person of grade 3+ and we offer instruments, uniform and tuition for only £1.00 a week.
VECTIS TRAINING BRASS BAND IOW
Thursday 6pm - 7pm St.Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School
This ensemble caters for absolute beginners where anyone, young or old, can learn musicianship at their own pace in a very friendly and relaxed environment. When they are happy to do so, players progress to the band that best suits their needs. We also provide instruments to learn on. 2007 has seen three children move up to the youth band and two adults move to the senior band. All started from scratch in the training section.

DECEMBER
- Saturday 6th - Wessex Contest Youth Band only - all day event
- Thursday 11th - Christingle Carol Concert with St Mary's School - Ryde Town Centre
- Sunday 14th - Band Xmas Concert - Youth & Senior venue to be announced
